AADOM Conference
Code of Conduct

By registering for the conference, attendees and exhibitors agree to uphold the principles outlined in AADOM’s Code of Conduct.

This includes acting with integrity, maintaining high ethical standards, and fostering respect and inclusivity within our professional community. We expect all participants to contribute positively, ensuring a respectful environment for all, free from discrimination, harassment, or unethical behavior.

We pride ourselves in putting on a fun event and want our attendees and exhibitors to enjoy themselves. Please understand that enjoying ourselves to the point of inebriation from any legal or illegal substance is unacceptable at any time during AADOM sponsored events, including during trade show hours.

Failure to comply with these standards may result in removal from the event and other measures deemed necessary by the event organizers. Let’s work together to create an engaging and supportive atmosphere for everyone.

Code of Conduct

As members of AADOM, we are committed to a Code of Professional Conduct in order to achieve and maintain high levels of integrity, ethical decision making, and wise counsel within our association.

We wish to foster leaders in growth opportunities, in not only their place of employment, but as respected leaders in their profession and communities.

By holding ourselves accountable to these standards, we enhance the dental profession’s trust for which our professional privilege is founded. This Code of Professional Conduct addresses three specific areas:

OUR EMPLOYMENT

  • Promote a positive image for our position. Avoid situations such as dishonesty or misrepresentation, confidentiality breaches, theft, fraud, threatening behavior, or conviction of a crime related to the employee’s job duties.
  • Support integrity. Do not do anything willingly or knowingly that will harm any employer’s business, employer, fellow employees or patients.
  • Recognize that we are in a position of trust. This requires good stewardship of honest and efficient use of practice-owned resources and that these resources are to be protected from misuse and theft.
  • Ensure ethical business practices.  Always deal fairly and in good faith, never taking advantage of anyone through manipulation, deceit, or abuse of privileged or protected information.

OUR WORK COMMUNITIES AND EACH OTHER

  • Embrace our differences. Do not discriminate based on gender, race, religion, color, age, sexual preference or personal disability.
  • Treat everyone with respect at all times. No bullying, harassment or intimidation of anyone.
  • Develop professional relationships based on truth, honesty, responsibility and accountability. Accept responsibility for all our actions and the consequences of those actions.
  • Conduct our personal affairs in a manner that does not improperly influence the performance of our position, or bring discredit to our organization.

OUR ORGANIZATION

  • Continually strive for knowledge, personal and professional growth.
  • Develop collaborative professional relationships and exchange knowledge to enhance our own lifelong professional development.
  • Practice sound ethical decision‐making and take actions that will preserve an ethical workplace.
  • Act in ways that bring credit to our profession while demonstrating respect for other colleagues in dentistry.
